Odessa Archaeological Museum

Odessa Archaeological Museum is one of the oldest in Ukraine, was founded in 1825. Its development was promoted by the Odessa Society of antiquity and history, which had the right to carry out excavations in the Northern Black Sea Region.

There are more than 160 000 exhibits.




The House - Pushkin's Museum

You'll visit an apartment in which lived one of the most well-known writers - A.S.Pushkin while he lived in Odessa. You'll learn about his creativity during this period, and will get to know what was written in Odessa and about Odessa, lots of Pushkin's novels and historical events.



Fine Arts Museum of Odessa

The museum is located in Pototsky's ancient palace. Here you can get acquainted with a magnificent collection of the most interesting paintings and sculptures. You will have a chance to see old russian icons, works of great Russian portraitists, and also Gold fund of picture gallery - Ayvazovsky's pictures, Costandi, Kuindgy, Vereschagin, Vrubel and many other masterpieces.



A Museum of Western and Eastern Art

Here you will see cloths of Italian masters: Michelangelo da Karavadjo, Alessander Maniasko, Franchesko Gvardi, Bernardo Bellotto, and also expositions of Flemish and Dutch paintings and many other magnificent cloths of worldwide known artists.

The collections located in 24 halls of the museum utilize real historical objects to trace the history of literary Odessa. More than three hundred writers are represented to the public. Rare editions, manuscripts, photos, albums, related objects are available for you to view here. The overall exhibition is divided into six collections. 



Odessa Museum of Numismatics

Odessa Museum of Numismatics is the first Ukrainian historical museum of new type whose task became studying the history of coinage and money circulation of the Ukrainian state and also preservation and demonstration of the major historical relics belonging to ancient history and culture of the Northern Black Sea Region and Rus-Ukraine. In September 1994 when Odessa celebrated it's 200-th anniversary in Odessa was opened permanent numismatics exhibition. In January 1999 it has been reorganized into Odessa Museum of Numismatics.



The Jewish Museum

Migdal is a large unique Jewish non-profit organization that offers numerous services to the Jewish Community of Odessa as well as conducts cultural and educational exchange with Jewish Communities worldwide through exhibits, seminars, conferences, and other programs. So far it conducted exchange programs with their colleagues from Israel, USA, Austria and Germany.



"Philiki Etairia" Greek Museum

The Museum of the Philiki Etairia has been operating since 1979 as part of the Historical and Folk Art Museum of Odessa. A new gallery with a focus on folk art was recently inaugurated in the inner courtyard area, featuring authentic artefacts which recreate the appearance of the residence of G.I. Maraslis, owner of the building in the first half of the 19th century.

The museum is open to the public and attracts many foreigners visiting Odessa as well as local people from the wider region.



Museum of Partisan Glory - The Lost World of Catacombs

More then 2500 km of natural sandstone catacombs are buried beneath Odessa. The part of catacombs used by resistance fighters in 1941 (World War II) is open to public.

Down in the catacombs, the first thing that strikes tourist is an absolute darkness, intense humidity and profound silence. So, definitely it is not for the claustrophobic, but a must to see for everyone.

Memorial of Heroic Defense

The memorial museum on the area of 16 hectares has settled down an original open-air museum with the developed exposition of samples of military technology and arms of the basic sorts and kinds of armed forces of the period of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The entrance to amemorial is crowned with sculptural forms in a kind Katyusha.
